Ride to Alice’s

Today, Amy and I woke up and decided to take a ride for a few hours. We took a common motorcycling route (I believe) down HWY 1 winding along the ocean and then through the woods. After about 50 miles we arrived at Alices Restaurant a popular motorcycle hang out and let me tell you, we were not the only ones who decided to go out on a sunny day for a motorcycle ride.

As we pulled around the last winding leg before Alices you could hear the bikes ahead. We pulled up to a stop sign to see 3 full parking lots (easily 50+ motorcycles) all hanging out, eating lunch and chatting with everyone else. There were Harleys, sport bikes, dirt bikes and everything in between. I will be sure to take my camera next time because you can’t really believe it until you have seen it. Out in what seems the middle of nowhere is this popular, delicious restaurant and resting/meeting spot for motorcyclists passing through the area. Needless to say, we had a great time on a sunny day winding through the mountains, trees and along the ocean at times with a pit stop to meet some interesting folks and to eat some really good food.

Check out the map below, it kinda highlights the route we took to get there and where Alices is. Now that we have made the trip once, maybe we can ride along with Joe next time (you are reading this, aren’t you Joe?). The map was made at www.wayfairing.com as a test, but could be pretty cool for things like this.
