Drug Needles as Artwork

I wish I would have had my camera this morning when I was walking to work. As I passed the Sony Metreon and the Convention Center today I saw the strangest site. As a walked through a nicely manacured garden with trees, bushes and water fountains I was welcomed with a hypodermic needle that had been stabbed into a tree. I had just been thinking to myself how pleasant the walk had been…the crisp air, the clean sidewalks…and then, the needles.

San Francisco is a beautiful city!

You Smell Dead Baby?

Today, as we do most days, we were walking down the (podcast) alley on the way to get some lunch. But today was a unique day for us. About 2/3 of the way down the alley, a cross-eyed asian man (or lady, I didn’t really see any distingushing features) started yelling at us and pointing at a trash can. He was yelling, “It smells like dead baby…come look now!” and continued to try and drag us down the alley to see and smell the trash can. Needless to say we ran past him but he was feverishly dragging the trash can down the alley behind us. I did see some flies swarming over the top of it as we ran by, but refused to look in. Fuck that.

Who Needs Spelling? Not These Guys!

Who Needs Spelling? Not These Guys!
I about shit today. As I was taking my long walk from my apartment, to Fishermans Wharf, and around the Embarcadero I stumbled upon this today.

A wall had been built around piers 1, 3 and 5 while it was under construction. Some genius wrote “An Historic Rehabilitation”. Thankfully, someone took a black marker and marked out the errant “n” for them.

The Water in New Orleans is this high.

Red Cross : The Water in New Orleans is this high.
I took these photos today right outside china town in San Francisco. They were about 6 feet off the ground and continued for about 80 feet along the street. There was a dashed line that ran the whole length and every so often there was a sign that read “The Water in New Orleans is this High”. Sponsored by the SF Red Cross. What a great idea.

Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy
My fingers were covered so fully by the end of this poison ivy streak that i could not put my fingers all the way together. They hurt so bad that I would wake up in the middle of the night in pain.

I guess that is what I get for being a weekend warrior trying to fix up my house while im back home for a few days.

As a matter of fact, that wasnt even the worse thing to happen to me. My PowerBook crashed, I lost my conference notes, I got the flu and…I got this poison ivy. Shitty.
