Theres nothing like waking up in the morning and starting your walk to the office and finding a man who has just taken a shit on the sidewalk now using a stick to write his name with it. He was so focused that he did not notice anyone walking by.
Good news is…we moved to our new office… and thats sweet.

As is the purpose of my blog while here in San Francisco, here is the latest going on in San Francisco.
Crips co-founder Stanley Tookie Williams is set to be executed just after midnight tonight — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger denied him clemency earlier today as did the Supreme Court.
This is potentially the biggest news since my arrival here in San Francisco.

Erin O’Neill from my the PodShow office has some photos in a gallery here in SF. Focus Gallery, 2423 Polk Street (at Union), San Francisco is the address. Opening reception will be held Thursday, December 8th, 6 to 9 pm. Public is welcome.
“I have investigated gender performance and the creation of Trans culture since 1993. In 1997, when I was awarded the James D. Phelan in photography, Camerawork wrote, “This work unmoors gender from its foundation in the physical body.” My current project, Kings of the Road, posits drag kings as the protagonists of their own road movies. I try to construct realities in a manner analogous to the subjects’ gender transgressions. The bipolar gender system starts to appear antiquated after a viewing these photographs.”

For most of you who know me, you know I’m usually a pretty low key guy. Don’t get my wrong, I can be completely nutty when needed but on my own am actually kinda lame. That said, let me tell you a story about this previous weekend.
On Friday, as is PodShow tradition, we took part in foobar Friday. It started at 4pm this week and we had a special occasion… we hired a new guy (welcome RB-H) and he, with the help of Chris and Aaron, had brewed some special PodShow holiday beer in his home brewery. Thats where the fun began. After a few beverages Chris Rockwell and I left from there to head to the Apple Store where Miggs (http://miggsband.com) was for some reason performing a live acoustic set. While the others didn’t enjoy it (chris, sue, big mike, matt, kevin) I personally didn’t think it was that bad…but I digress.
The next stop was Foleys Irish bar/restaurant where I enjoyed a pint and some fish and chips..delicious. While there we saw some posers prepare to play but fortunately got out before the 50 year old man could break into the first chorus of hit me baby one more time. Much to our pleasure, kevins wife joined us making our party 7 total. Our end goal was to end to watch Michael Butler and American Heartbreak (http://www.americanheartbreak.com) performance that evening. When we were debating how to get to the north side a limo pulled up out front and asked if we wanted a ride. What are the chances of that? Arriving a bit early we went next door and watched a cool jazz/funk band perform (trumpet, sax, keys guitars and drum kit) and they rocked out. Someone is going to have to remind me of their name, I didn’t get a copy of the cd. Finally, after all that, we paid our cover and got into the Lost and Found Saloon and watched Michael and his band mates rock. Even more fun, Ron and Marta Bloom and Richard B-H showed up to offer their support and to listen to great music. All in all, a great night.
So why am I posting this? I did more that night, in one night, than I do in a normal month. Who else drinks at work, watches a band, has a pint and supper at an irish pub, than continues to see 2 more band at 2 more clubs in one evening? I rule.
Oh yeah, final thoughts: I would like to thank everyone for taking me out with them and showing me a good time and then leaving me all alone in the pisser at the jazz bar. That was so sweet of you.

Ok. This post serves 2 purposes…the first one being my ability to test a new plugin I found to drop a flash player into a word press post and have it stream the file. The other purposes is for you to listen to, and remember, how much the dizzy band rocks. Check them out now.

So, last year for my birthday I got the greatest gift from my wifey. It was the Apple Airport Express which allowed my to share my music from my computer (via itunes) to my stereo which was on the other side of the house. It worked great while we lived in that house, but then we moved to our new place and it was downhill from there. I could never get it to work again, no matter what dave or apple support or anyone had to say about it.
But low and behold, I packed it and brought it to SF on a whim…and after about 30 minutes of crying and talking to it… I won! I now have a wireless network setup in my house and if I had a stereo here, I could share my music with that too! Oh the pleasures of a 4 day weekend alone.

The web hosting world drives me crazy. It has been part of my businesses since I started in college and it has never been easy for me. Fortunately I have always had people smarter than myself to manage them for me (tim, dave & others). However, the time has come to make my life a little bit easier. I decided to buy another server and move all my personal sites (and a few other small sites) over to it with a managed domain, name server, email package, etc…all in one. I will lose some of the flexibility I have become accustomed to, but it will be worth it to not have to bother anyone to help me fix it.
So, why am I blogging about this? Well, because this may effect you. I spent the whole day today (well, yesterday now) setting up the server and moving about 10 domains over to it to test. One of them could have been yours, and hopefully you didn’t even notice because 95% of the process was entirely to easy. It’s amazing how much changes when you get stuck in an old system that just works. I’m glad I moved.

I took this shot today across the street from Macy’s here in San Francisco. People were waiting in line outside of Macy’s just to get into the store. Macy’s has like 7 stories and basically owns the entire block, yet somehow it can fit all those crazy shoppers in.
The best part was the entrepreneurs who had setup shop alongside the sidewalk where the people had to stand to get into the store…Starbucks, discount merchandisers, and local street artists alike sold their little hearts out to the people dying to spend money..while they waited in line to get into the store!
** NOTE **
After taking this photo I immediately walked over to the very un-crowded Borders Bookstore and had me a big Carmel Latte and read 5 magazines. And as another side note, 4 of those magazines mentioned podcasting or had tutorials about podcasting! Im still amazed.

Ok, so I am new to the Macintosh (a little over a year now I think) but I always wondered how to change all of the icons on my computer easily without installing any third party applications. Turns out…its quite simple. All you have to do is the following:
- Pick the image/icon you would like to use and hit Apple+I
- Click on the little picture (in example, the cinema display)
- Hit Apple+C to copy the icon and close the window
- Pick the folder, drive or hardware device you would like to change the icon of and hit Apple+I on that
- Click on the little picture again and hit Apple+V to paste the new icon
- Close the open window, and enjoy your hard work!
As you can see in the image, I enjoyed my hardwork too much…I changed all of my icons for the folders I use most often. Most of the icons I got from the IconFactory Website in their free icon section.

Ok, after doing all those fancy math conversions and sweating in the kitchen for awhile, out comes lunch (and supper)! What more could a married man ask for other than a nice Thanksgiving day meal, a glass of wine, and a friendly Powerbook to keep me company.
Don’t even get me started on the can opener, it will get messy up in here…seriously, who has a can opener that requires your hands to move like that.
